Steve and Judy Theobald Scholarship

For Spring 2024. The Steve and Judy Theobald Scholarship is for students enrolled in the Doctoral of Audiology program at ISU. Students shall demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the ability to exhibit appropriate professional conduct and to represent the profession effectively. Preference is given to students demonstrating financial need.

  1. STATEMENT: In the clinic orientation workshop at the beginning of the semester, you were involved in a discussion that provided information about the professional practice competencies. Professionalism is a core theme within each competency. Professionalism may be defined as: "The ability to exhibit appropriate professional conduct and to represent the profession effectively". Using this definition as a guide, describe what professionalism in audiology means to you and how you can apply it in school and later in your career. How do you as a student demonstrate professionalism? Why is professionalism such an important aspect as a healthcare professional? Please be aware that strong emphasis is placed on this section of the application by the selection committee. Be as complete as possible. 250-750 words is sufficient.
  2. Briefly explain your financial situation. Talk about things like credit card debt, student loan debt, car loan debt and monthly expenses. Please also list income sources such as employment and other assets.
