  3. Internship Area Selection: ISU has many departments on campus which receive funding to host a New Student Intern. In order to best align academic major and career interests with internship positions, please choose and rank three areas in which you would desire an internship if selected. Although every attempt will be made to match selected students to a department based on academic/career interests, some interns may be assigned to departments based on developing career skill sets such as leadership, teamwork, time management, professionalism, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills — all of which are critical regardless of your future career. Not all departments can accommodate interns so we will do our best to place selected students in an area where they can grow their professional work experience. Every attempt will be made to ensure that interns are paid for a minimum of 15 hours (up to 20 hours maximum) per week but due to unforeseen circumstances, the number of hours may fluctuate.
