Colonel Garth H. Holmes
Colonel Garth Holmes received his B.S. degree in pharmacy from ISU in 1960 and was President of Phi Sigma Lappa Fraternity. He earned the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1960 to 1994. Garth also earned an M.Ed. in 1974 from Boston University. He has served as a community pharmacist, a pharmacy consultant for the State of Washington, and as an affiliate instructor for the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. He is a member of the Washington State Pharmacists Association and the Retired Officers Association. In 1998, Garth was named Pharmacist of the Year by the Washington Pharmacy Association.
Garth also serves on the Idaho State University Alumni Board of Directors. He established the Colonel Garth Holmes Scholarship Endowment to benefit first-year professional pharmacy students with financial need who are residents of Idaho
