Dr. Dennis L. Wight M.D.

Dennis Lewis Wight graduated from the ISU College of Pharmacy in 1943. He went on to pursue his medical degree and spent his career as an Obstetrics & Gynecological physician. Dennis passed away on July 12, 2013. In his memory and name, his wife, Lorraine Peterson Green Wight established a College of Pharmacy scholarship endowment. The annual scholarship is awarded to students pursuing their pharmacy degree.

Dennis was a family man who loved his wife and son, Russell, daughter, Kay Lynne, and seven grandchildren. Before he married Lorraine he was married to Renee Olson, who tragically passed away from diabetes in 1982. Dennis’s hobbies include fishing, hunting, woodworking and he loved to read.

Dennis and Lorraine were married for thirty years and they traveled around the globe to places such as Australia, Fiji, England, Italy and many other locations. Their loving relationship will be well remembered by all who knew them and the kindness that they shared with the world will continue to be felt through this wonderful endowment.
