Frank L. Savage
“You need not be a graduate of the College of Pharmacy to benefit from it,” says Frank Savage, a 1951 graduate of the ISU College of Education. Following graduation, Frank entered the Army during the Korean War and was ultimately discharged as Captain in 1954. Throughout his career, Frank held many sales and marketing positions with companies including Merrell Dow and Marion Merrell Dow, before retiring in 1990. Following retirement, he served as a consultant for biotechnology companies such as Agouron, Amgen, Biogen and Genzyme. He eventually went back to work with Agouron (Pfizer Pharmaceuticals) as Director of National Trade Development. In December 2000, Frank received the Nexus Award, which is the healthcare industry’s highest honor. In 2002, he was awarded the ISU College of Pharmacy Distinguished Service Award. Frank serves on the College of Pharmacy Dean’s Advisory Council. Frank’s gifts to establish this endowment demonstrate his commitment to the profession of pharmacy.
