Frank P. Cosgrove

Dr. Frank P. Cosgrove was a distinguished professor and researcher, and dean of the College of Pharmacy from 1968 to 1979. Originally from Peekskill, New York, Frank obtained his B.S. degree in pharmacy from the University of Notre Dame. He held an M.S degree in science education from New York University, an M.S. in pharmacy from the University of Colorado and Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He also studied at the Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies and Tulane University. An outstanding educator and visionary, Frank implemented the first clinical externship program, encouraging students to step out of the classroom and into the clinical environment to complete their education. This endowment provides scholarships to a second-, third- or fourth-year professional pharmacy student exhibiting financial need, academic excellence and a sense of professionalism through extracurricular activities.
