Galo Medina Scholarship
Galo Medina Endowment
Galo Medina graduated from Idaho State University with a bachelor’s degree in General Studies. He currently the president of Comprehensive Financial Services in Hollywood, California, where is specializes in developing financial plans for his clients.
Medina started the scholarship because he said he reached a certain point as a student where he need an opportunity to receive his undergraduate degree, and he wanted to give students an opportunity.
“I wanted to pass on this opportunity for any student that needs it,” Medina said. “Sometimes a student just needs a check to be written. If I’m going to help someone get a degree, this is the most concise way to do it.”
The endowment is open for students across disciplines in the College of Arts and Letters.
The criteria for the endowment includes:
1. Eligible students who attend the main ISU campus
2. Continuing students
3. Good academic standing
4. Students who have demonstrated a financial need
The endowment is already accepting applications. Medina knows that the endowment goes on in perpetuity. He also hopes that it will quadruple in size to allow more students to have opportunities. Students will be able to apply for a scholarship in both the spring and fall semesters.
