Kandi Turley-Ames

Kandi Turley-Ames has been an integral part of Idaho State University since graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Joining the Department of Psychology in 1997, she has held various leadership roles, including Chairperson of Psychology, Interim Assistant Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences, and Associate Vice President in Academic Affairs. Currently serving as the Founding Dean of the College of Arts and Letters, Vice Provost for Advanced Opportunities, and Professor of Psychology, she has shown unwavering dedication to the institution’s growth and success. As the Founding Dean, Turley-Ames has played a crucial role in stabilizing the College of Arts and Letters during challenging times, fostering unity, and attracting exceptional faculty members. Her passion for student learning and collaborative research has left an indelible mark on Idaho State University. Turley-Ames is also known for spearheading innovative projects like the INCLUDE project, which partners with rural high schools and communities to deliver educational opportunities for southeast Idaho high school students. Additionally, she created the Resiliency and Road Scholarships, aimed at supporting students’ academic pursuits.
