Kendal & Julie Tanner Civil and Environmental Engineering Scholarship

Kendal Tanner, a native of Eastern Idaho, was the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Idaho State University in 1984 with a B.S. in General Engineering.
He began his career in civil engineering with a construction company in Boise, later obtaining a civil service position with the U.S. Air Force at McClellan AFB, CA.
Over 13 years, Kendal held various civil and environmental engineering roles with the Air Force and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, culminating as Deputy Base Civil Engineer at Mountain Home AFB, ID.
In 1999, Kendal joined CH2M Hill, advancing to VP and Northwest Region Business Group Manager. In 2006, he moved to HDR, where he served as SVP, Director of Operations for HDR Constructors until retiring in 2021.
A licensed Civil Engineer since 1992, Kendal received ISU’s Engineering Professional Achievement Award in 2015. He and his wife, Julie, live in Boise, ID, and have two children, Kyle and Kenzie.
