Martin Naylor Memorial Scholarship
Martin Naylor Memorial ScholarshipThis Trust is established as a memorial to Martin Naylor, who, in 1968 was instrumental in originating and setting up the first Data Processing course at Idaho State University. He remained with Sinclair until March, 1984 when he had an opportunity to join Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas in their machine operation department, and a year later joined the Kaiser Company, ship building organization in Portland, Oregon, where he remained for the duration of World War II. October, 1947 saw him transferred to the automotive section, Kaiser-Frazier Corp. in Detroit, Michigan.
In the early part of 1952 he joined Garrett Freightlines in Pocatello, Idaho as the Data Processing Manager. While in this capacity, Martin helped institute the original chapter of the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA) in Eastern Idaho. In the year 1972, he served as the first President of this chapter.
He was a member of the State Advisory Committee to the State Board of Vocational Education and a member of the Data Processing Advisory Committee to the Vocational Technical School of Idaho State University.
