Sherri Dienstfrey-Swanson

Dr. Sherri Dienstfrey-Swanson was awarded the 2018 Benny Award as an Outstanding Professor.

Dr. Dienstfrey-Swanson, Student Organization Advisor , was the Director of the University Honors Program where she taught, advised and helped the program advance with the assistance of wonderful colleagues and students. Before becoming the University Honors Program Director, she spent 25 years at ISU as a faculty member for the theatre department. She is retiring after 30-plus years in academia.
After retiring from the University Honors Program , Dr. Sherri Dienstfrey-Swanson, became the President of the Board of Directors of the Old Town Actors Studio.
Dr. Dienstfrey-Swanson, earned her BS from the University of Nebraska, her MA from North Dakota State University, and her Ph.D. from Kent State.
During her career, Sherri has directed over 100 productions and continues to adapt and direct Readers Theatres. She is thrilled to be a founding member of OTAS and adores the freedom to work on various presentations with a multitude of creative and dedicated artists with strong work ethics. Sherri is the proud grandma of Kevin and Meredith Wilson!
