West Valley Medical Center Allied Healthcare Scholarship
What is the Allied Healthcare Scholarship?
Two or more scholarship awards for higher education expenses for students who graduated from a high school in
Canyon or Owyhee County or have residence in Canyon or Owyhee County, and are attending a postsecondary program
in Idaho or Eastern Oregon.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Only non-employee students are eligible.
Graduating high school seniors, high school graduates and/or current postsecondary undergraduates.
Plan to enroll in a minimum of 6 to 11 hours of undergraduate study at an accredited Idaho or Eastern Oregon
two or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year. Online
programs meeting the above requirements are accepted.
Must attend or have graduated from a high school located in Canyon or Owyhee County or have permanent
residence in Canyon or Owyhee County and are currently enrolled in a postsecondary program in Idaho or
Eastern Oregon.
Students who are awarded a Jr. Volunteer Scholarship and/or Auxiliary Scholarship will not be eligible for the
Allied Healthcare Scholarship in the same year.
If you have previously received an Allied Healthcare Scholarship you are not eligible. This is a one-time
scholarship.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in current program.
What is the range of scholarship awards?
Scholarship awards can range from $250 to $2,000.
Does the scholarship apply to any field of study?
Students must be enrolled in an allied healthcare degree program, such as nursing, medical laboratory technology,
radiology, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, etc. The degree must be for a position that we would hire for in the hospital
setting.

Your application must be completed and submitted by Friday, March 19, 2021, at 5p.m., Mountain Time.
What are the transcript requirements for the application?
As part of the application, students must include a current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not
accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each
course, and term in which each course was taken.

Goals Statement: Describe your educational and career goals. (Limit about 200 words)
Unusual Circumstances (optional): Please describe how and when any unusual family or personal circumstances
have affected your achievement in school, work experience, or your participation in school and community
activities. (Limit about 200 words)
