Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship enables students to study or intern abroad, providing them with critical skills to succeed in the 21st century workforce. The Gilman Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by providing grants of up to $5,000 to U.S. undergraduate students of limited financial means to participate in credit-bearing study abroad or international internship programs.

Students applying for any academic term must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Citizen of the United States
• Undergraduate student in good academic standing
• Federal Pell Grant recipient
• Student in the process of applying to, or accepted for, a study abroad or internship program

  • Must provide transcripts
    • Student applying for a program in an eligible country, according to U.S. Department of State guidance
