Newland & Newland aspires to help single parents and their children overcome the challenges preventing them from pursuing higher education by providing the Newland & Newland Single Parent Scholarship. Newland & Newland offering an award worth $1,000 to single parents and children of single parents who are pursuing a career in law.

Our Fall 2024 award is offered to members of single-parent households who are pursuing an education in law. The applicant must be a single parent or a child of a single parent.

Other eligibility criteria include:

Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or law school for the Spring 2024 semester
Must be pursuing a law degree or paralegal program
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0
Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
Required:

Proof of enrollment, professional headshot, 500-1000 words essay. topic: How has the experience of being a single parent or the child of a single parent influenced your educational and career goals? How do you plan to achieve those goals?
