Southeast Idaho AHEC Scholars Program
Fifteen AHEC Scholars slots are available for Idaho State University health disciplines students. Students join an interprofessional team of students to learn about working in rural and underserved communities through didactic classes and unique service-learning opportunities. The program is a two-year commitment. Scholars receive a $1000 stipend, and a HRSA recognized Certificate of Completion for their work.
To be eligible for AHEC Scholars Southeast Idaho you must:
• be a health professions student of an eligible ISU Program
• have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be in good standing in your program
• be in at least a two-year health professions program
• must be a student on the Pocatello campus (Meridian Students may apply for the SWID AHEC Scholars Program at https://redcap.iths.org/surveys/?s=8CWM8H4DXF&site=6&cohortyear=2022
• commit to a two-year AHEC Scholars activity agenda
• must be a citizen of the United States or a foreign national having in his/her possession a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States
• Scholars will sign a letter of commitment and hold themselves to the highest ethical standards when working with rural and underserved communities.
