ROAD Scholarship

For Academic Year 2024-25. The ROAD Scholarship is for new incoming Freshmen who are residents of Idaho and upcoming graduates of a Southeast Idaho High School. Students must have a minimum 2.0 High School GPA. Preference will be given to students with a 2.5 High School GPA or higher. Financial need will be considered. An essay is required and other scholarships in which a student has received (at time of awarding) will also be considered. Students must be attending ISU full-time in the upcoming Fall Semester in order to be eligible. Students who are ROAD scholarship recipients will be celebrated (at their high school – when possible) for receiving this scholarship and congratulating them on their upcoming path to higher education. Students leaving on a mission, military will want to apply the semester before they return to ISU (if attending in a Fall Semester).

Background: The ROAD Scholarship was initiated by the Dean of the College of Arts and Letters in 2016. The primary objective of the Road Scholarship Program is to recruit and assist Southeast Idaho students with financial assistance to attend Idaho State University. Relationships are built with a scholarship. As students determine their pathway, a positive relationship that includes targeted funding can be the impetus that is needed to take the next step in building a fulfilling future. Deans, faculty, staff go on the “road” to celebrate these students, engage with them, and create relationships with families, high schools, and communities to start addressing common challenges while providing assistance to assist students in their first year of post-secondary education.
