VA Education Benefits - Yellow Ribbon Non-Resident Tuition Grant
For Spring 2024 and 2024-2025 – PLEASE NOTE – You should not apply for a Yellow Ribbon non-resident tuition grant if you have been admitted as an Idaho resident or are not eligible for CH 33 Post 9-11 G.I.Bill® benefits.
Idaho State University (ISU) is proud to be a participating institution in the Yellow Ribbon Program. The Yellow Ribbon Program is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This program allows institutions of higher learning in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs to fund non-resident tuition expenses that exceed the resident tuition and fees which are covered by the Post-9/11 G.I.Bill® benefit. Under this agreement ISU will fund 50% of the eligible non-resident expenses and the VA will match ISU to cover the remainder of the eligible non-resident expenses. ISUs participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program is determined annually. To be eligible you must meet the following criteria:
• Be a Veteran or eligible dependent of a Veteran
• Been found eligible to receive Chapter 33 Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® benefits at 100% eligibility – OR -
• Been found eligible to receive Chapter 33 Post 9/11 Transfer Of Entitlement at 100% eligibility
• Be an undergraduate level student
• Ba admitted as a non-Idaho resident
Students can be less than full-time. No minimum GPA requirement. Open year round. Deadline for semester in which you are applying is mid-term of a given semester.
