Pocatello NAACP Scholarship
This scholarship award ($500-$1000 per recipient) is given to a high school graduate who is accepted at a college, university, trade school, or apprenticeship program, or a student who is currently attending one of those educational programs. Preference is given to students who are Idaho residents and enrolling in or attending an Idaho institution.
Applicants must:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4-point scale - Provide a PDF copy of their most recent academic transcript - Submit a 1-2 page personal statement including your view of the role of higher education in a person’s life, how you think your education will benefit you personally, and your overall career goals. Please touch on the concepts of community and diversity within your personal statement.If selected, the applicant must provide acceptance and/or enrollment verification on college/university/trade school letterhead for an accredited institution of higher learning.
Note: Scholarship recipients must attend the Juneteenth Celebration hosted by the Pocatello NAACP on June 22, 2024 in order to receive the scholarship. Lunch will be around noon, followed by scholarship awarding at approximately 2 pm. Recipients will be notified in advance and provided with a complimentary meal ticket.
