The Alex Urfer Professional Clinical Enrichment and Service-Learning Scholarship Endowment
(CUUI Use) For Academic Year 2026-27. The Alex Urfer Professional Clinical Enrichment and Service-Learning Scholarship Endowment is awarded at the discretion of the OT/PT chair and faculty. The annual award shall be given to a Doctor of PT or Masters of OT Program student in their* FINAL* year. Students should be UNMARRIED students who are focused on professional and community service learning and clinical diversity in their programs and similar long term academic and career pursuits. The intent of these scholarship awards continues to contribute, and support current and future shortfalls of both Physical and Occupational Therapy professionals according to national trends and Accreditation Councils.
Faculty are to choose/nominate a student (in their final year of the PT, OT Graduate program) who most closely represent the following:
- A student (final year) in good academic standing within the program(s); who may require financial assistance; is in good “clinical standing” with evidence of seeking and participating in unique and various clinical affiliations or related experience.
- In addition, the recipient must have a record of service and leadership roles in professional and community endeavors in their program of study.
NOTE: In the absence of qualified applicant(s), the award may be given to a qualified international student(s) advancing to their final year of study within their respective programs. If no international student(s) candidates are available, the spendable allocation for that year shall be returned to the principal of the Fund in support of further growth
*Minimum award amount is $1,000. Students in BOTH programs should be awarded scholarships. *
