College JumpStart Scholarship

The College JumpStart Gratitude Scholarship allows you to share your thanks for when someone has done something kind for you. Along your life’s path, there have probably been people who have supported you or helped you. Now is the time to describe the help that they’ve provided and how it has shaped who you are. (If this topic doesn’t speak to you, you may also write about any topic of your choice.)

Personal Statement

Please answer ONE of the following questions in 250 words or less.

(1) Describe a time someone has done something for you and how this has helped you grow. OR

(2) Write about something that you are thankful for and its significance in shaping who you are. OR

(3) Write about the topic of your choice.

Your personal statement will be judged on its content not your writing style. Please focus on the substance of your answer. And remember the words of Thomas Jefferson who said, “The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do.” Good luck!
