Zide Law Group Renewed Horizons Scholarship
The Renewed Horizons Scholarship aims to empower single parents who are committed to furthering their education and improving their family’s future. This scholarship is available to eligible solo parents pursuing a college degree and offers an award of $1,000 per semester. It will be awarded to one student in the Fall semester and one student in the Spring semester.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The Renewed Horizons Scholarship was created with the intent to offer financial relief to single parents pursuing a higher education. To be eligible for our award, you must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must be single parents (biological, step, or adoptive). To meet the qualifications of a single parent, you must be either a primary custodian or share equal custody of at least one child and be either separated or divorced.
Applicants must be able to show evidence of a minimum GPA of 3.0 on their most recently completed academic semester’s unofficial transcript.
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university or college within the United States for the Spring 2026 semester.
Applicants must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States.
Application Process
The steps to submit a completed application for the Renewed Horizons Scholarship include:
Complete the scholarship online application form available on the website.
Submit the most recent academic transcripts.
Submit the essay as outlined below.
Applicants are required to submit an essay (1,000 to 1,500 words) responding to the following:
Reflect on your journey as a single parent.
How has it shaped your motivations for returning to school, and what lessons do you hope to impart to your child(ren) during this process?
In what ways do you believe furthering your education will enhance not only your personal and professional growth but also the overall wellbeing of your family?
Academic achievement: The applicant must exhibit a minimum GPA of 3.0 from their most recently completed academic semester.
Creativity and Originality: The essay should reflect creativity and originality, showcasing the applicant’s unique perspective and insights regarding their journey as a single parent and their educational aspirations.
