Sunbelt Broadcasting Scholarship
For Academic year 2026-27. The Sunbelt Broadcasting Scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Advertising, Graphic Design, Journalism, Photography, Public Relations, or Video Production. Student must be full-time during the award year and a Junior or Senior Class Level. Minimum GPA of 2.0 or greater. Student must have received a C- or better in CMP1110 and one of the following (CMP2231; CMP2251; CMP2201; or CMP2202). Essay required.

- Essay Question: Reflect on how AI impacts the skills and judgment needed for entry-level work in your field/major, and how strategic communication might make ethical AI-assisted communication more persuasive and publicly acceptable, given that many audiences resist automated content?
Please develop original ideas reflecting your own coursework and experiences, resisting the urge to pull from generative AI/LLM software. Draw from a minimum of three credible news sources or other scholarly works in drafting the essay, which should be a minimum of 3 pages double spaced.
