National Science Foundation (NSF) Federal Cyber Service Scholarship for Service

For Academic Year 2026-2027. *The National Science Foundation (NSF) Federal Cyber Service: Scholarship for Service *is awarded to Graduate Students pursuing graduate degree that leads to a cybersecurity career in the Federal Government. Students in the following Graduate Programs will be considered: Masters of Business Administration; Masters of Public Administration; Education, Computer Science; Homeland Security. Students must maintain eligibility in their awarded program; be U.S. Citizens (not dual National). Completed Application; Transcripts; up-to-date resume; reference contacts are required.
In addition students MUST meet the following:
1. Be a full-time Graduate student in an eligible Graduate Program for a minimum of 2 years AT Idaho State University;
2. Must be physically present at Idaho State University (online programs DO NOT count);
3. Participate in specified cybersecurity courses, practica and activities;
4. Maintain academic eligibility in your declared graduate (awarded) program.
5. Seek and participate in a summer cybersecurity internship at a government agency.
If awarded; students must:
1. Seek a cybersecurity job in the federal government (some state and local jobs will qualify);
2. Work for a Federal Agency for 2 years (upon graduation);
3. Maintain contact with the US Office of Personnel Management until completion of government service; NOTE: if federal service is NOT completed, the recipient scholar must repay the cost of the scholarship to Idaho State University.

BENEFITS: Receive Full Tuition as well as payment of related expenses such as textbooks and fees; Receive an annual stipend of $37,000 for Graduate Students; Receive up to $6,000 for approved professional development.
