Waechter Medical-Legal Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Waechter Medical-Legal Scholarship is open only to those legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are seventeen (17) years of age or older at the time of application and who are currently enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning (college, university or trade school).

Annual Scholarships Available: $2,000:
$1,000 to a student of a LEGAL college, university or program; AND areva
$1,000 to a student of a MEDICAL college, university or program.
GPA Requirement: None
Application Requirements: Only 150 words
• Write 150 original words (or more) about any of the following:
o How the Medical & Legal Community can work more easily together;
o How to reduce medical mistakes;
o For medical students only: What lawyers don’t know about medicine, but should;
o For law students only: What doctors don’t know about law, but should; OR
o Any other novel topic mixing law and medicine.
Criteria: Creativity in the essay and application
Open to any students of any kind of legal or medical college, university or program.
Who’s more creative, law students or medical students? Nursing students or future chiropractors? These scholarships are designed to test which students are the more original problem solvers.
