Southeast Idaho Wildland Firefighter Scholarship
For Fall 2021 – The Southeast Idaho Wildland Firefighter Scholarship is awarded to a student in any major and class level. Must be employed as seasonal or permanent employee by Bureau of Land Management as a Wildland Firefighter in the Southeastern Idaho District of the BLM during the most recent fire season prior to the award. Must be enrolled full-time, and have a minimum GPA of a 2.50. Preference is given to a southern zone employee (Pocatello, Chubbuck, Malad, Soda Springs, & American Falls). Preference to students employed as BLM firefighters on a seasonal basis. If no suitable candidates, permanent employees may be considered.

- Are or were you a Volunteer for a local Fire Department during the most recent fire season:
- Are or were you employed as a Wildland Firefighter during the most recent fire season? This can include Bureau of Land Mgt, Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, etc.
- Provide proof of employment. Employment must show proof that you were a wildland firefighter.
- STATEMENT: Provide an essay addressing your educational aims, chosen career, plans for accomplishment, personal circumstances and need for this scholarship. Please also describe your plans for completing your degree in a timely fashion. Be aware that strong emphasis is placed on this section of the application by the selection committee. Be as complete as possible. 200-500 words is sufficient.
